Pastor Ritchie Thompson, Senior Pastor of WSSCC, believes that healed people help people. His focus is to love, care for and minister to his church family so that they can be healed and healthy spiritually and in every other aspect of life as well. In doing this, every member becomes prepared and equipped to be that loving and caring person who serves by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all those they come in contact with.

A native of Griffin, Georgia, Pastor Ritchie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Married to Leah since 1993, they have two grown children, Holly and Jonah, both dedicated to their faith.

Pastor Ritchie's extensive ministry experience, beginning as Central Georgia Christian Education Director and serving at Harvest Temple Church of God and Family Worship Congregational Holiness Church, culminated in his current role at West Sunny Side Community Church since 1998. Initially the Children’s Pastor, he became Associate Pastor in 2015 and was appointed Senior Pastor in January 2022. Known for his dedication to ministry, family, congregation, and community, Pastor Ritchie is deeply committed to serving the Lord.
