Reverend Ritchie Thompson, Senior Pastor

Pastor Ritchie Thompson, the Senior Pastor of WSSCC, believes that healed people help people.  His focus is to love, care for and minister to his church family so that they can be healed and healthy spiritually and in every other aspect of life as well. In doing this, every member becomes prepared and equipped to be that loving and caring person who serves by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all those they come in contact with.

Pastor Ritchie Thompson is a native of Griffin, Georgia.  He is a graduate of Griffin Christian Academy; and went on to pursue a Batchelor of Science degree at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Pastor Ritchie and the love of his life, Leah, were married in 1993.  They have two grown children who also love the Lord.  Their daughter, Holly Evans, is actively involved in church.  Their son Jonah and wife, Abby, serve in full time ministry.

Pastor Ritchie served as Central Georgia Christian Education Director from 1996 – 2000.

He has served in ministry at several churches – Harvest Temple Church of God, Living Waters Congregational Holiness Church and Family Worship Congregational Holiness Church.

Pastor Ritchie’s ministry at West Sunny Side Community Church began in August 1998.  It began with his serving as Children’s Pastor.  In 2015, he became the Associate Pastor; and in January of 2022, Senior Pastor.

Pastor Ritchie is dedicated to the Lord in ministry, to his family, his congregation and the community.
